House Rules

By following a few simple guidelines, we can ensure that CityFest remains safe, clean and enjoyable for everyone. By entering the venue, you agree to abide by the rules set out below.

Enter at your own risk

Entry to the site is at your own risk. Instructions from staff, security personnel, the police, special investigating officers, enforcement officers and traffic marshals must be followed immediately and at all times. Breaches of the house rules may result in removal from the event site and/or handover to the police pursuant to Article 461 of the Criminal Code.

NIX18

We have a NIX18 policy! Visitors under the age of 18 may be asked to take a breathalyser test at the entrance. If they are found to be under the influence, they will be refused entry to the festival site.

Bicycles and scooters

Bicycles, mopeds, scooters and skateboards are not permitted on the premises. Bicycles, mopeds and scooters must be parked in the designated parking areas. It is forbidden to lean bicycles against or place them next to fences, including those near emergency exits. Any bicycles found there will be removed!

Liability

The organisation accepts no liability for theft or damage to visitors’ property on this site.

Alcohol and personal consumption

Visitors under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be admitted to the site. It is not permitted to bring your own (alcoholic) drinks onto the site. If alcohol or drugs are found at the security check or on the premises, they will be confiscated and the visitor in question will be removed from the premises. If necessary, the police or special investigating officers will be called in.

Checks and ID

Bags brought onto the premises will also be inspected as part of the security checks at the entrance. You must show proof of identity upon request by bar staff, security staff or other authorised personnel.

Film and photographic documentation

Various organisations will be filming and taking photographs at the festival. By entering the festival site, you automatically consent to CityFest and our media partners recording and using this footage and photographs.

Prohibited items

Carrying weapons and other similar items is prohibited. The possession, sale and use of all soft and hard drugs, other psychoactive substances or nitrous oxide are also prohibited.

Prohibited behaviour

Serving alcohol to visitors under the age of 18. Discriminatory behaviour on the grounds of culture, race or sexual orientation. Clothing bearing discriminatory, racist and/or offensive text and/or images. Any form of physical violence. Treating festival staff or visitors in an inappropriate manner or harassing them by swearing at them, becoming physically aggressive, committing sexual harassment or any other form of sexual violence, threatening them or obstructing them in the performance of their duties (such as providing assistance). Driving through or past roadblocks. Urinating in public and deliberately throwing rubbish onto the street.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, entry to CityFest is completely free. This applies to our main venue in Burgemeester Elsenpark, Meiveld, Citycentrum, Theater de Schalm, Art4U, Veldhoven Library and Museum ’t Oude Slot. However, you will need to pay for any refreshments yourself.

Yes, people of all ages are welcome here, including at our main venue in Burgemeester Elsenpark. Please note that at this venue, anyone under the age of 18 will be subject to a preventive breathalyser test and a body search for prohibited substances.

No, there are no lockers on the site at Burgemeester Elsenpark. Although most of the area is covered by our large marquee, it can get quite chilly in the evening. It is therefore advisable to bring a jacket.
